GOLISK

Slovak league of individuals GoLiSK is organized with the goal of presenting a new format, which combines options to play in person or online, according to the preferences and options of the players.

The tournament system is MacMahon with no handicap, 6.5 points komi, and Fisher time setting of 1h+15 second increment per move. If you do not have a tournament clock available, it is possible to set them up on a mobile phone.

Games are played once a month from 10/2026 to 05/2027. The results of the league are going to be published on the league’s webpage and will count towards the rating as a category D tournament.

Registration

Registration is done online by sending an email to goklub361@gmail.com with following information:

FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, RANK/EGD LINK and OGS NICKNAME

The registration deadline is 30.9.2026

The registration fee is 5 Euro and will be used for prizes. Please, send the fee to the Go club 361! bank account: IBAN SK08 8330 0000 0023 0061 1320 with a message “GOLISK 2026/27 name of the player” until the end of September 2026. You can find the list of registered players here.

Pairings

The pairings are prepared within the first three days of a month and will be published on the league webpage. Pairings are made by Štefan Sabo, who is also the referee of the tournament.

The round

During a month, the opponents contact each other and arrange their game, either individually or via channel #GOLISK on Discord.

Games can be played online or in person according to the preferences and options of the players. You may use for example your go club sessions, free time on tournaments and online servers such as OGS or KGS.

Reporting the results

The winner of the game shall announce the result by sending an email to goklub361@gmail.com including following information:

year of the league
round number
name of the player with white stones, rank
name of the player with black stones, rank
result of the game (W+R, B+5,5…)

Please attach an SGF file or a link to an OGS game, if possible. The games will be available on the webpage in order to help the players get better at playing the game of go.

The deadline for reporting the result by the winner of the game is the last day of the month, but in general, the sooner they get sent the better. In case of no result being reported without a serious reason, the game is considered a loss for both players.

If any suspicions about unfair play arise, for example usage of AI, faking the results and so on, the organizers have the right to exclude the player from the participation until the end of the season, in case the suspicion is sufficiently proven.

Final results announcement

The tournament results are going to be published on the league’s webpage and SAGO (Slovak Association of Go) webpage. In case anybody can contribute to the prizes for players (according to placement, rank, or another approved criteria), we are open to suggestions. The division of the prizes is going to be published after the number of registered players is finalized.
